San Francisco International Airport
Access Network Solutions, under contract to Holmes & Narver of Orange, California provided design review and installation verification services for the network system infrastructure for the San Francisco International Airport – International Terminal Building, during the construction, testing and acceptance phase of the overall project.
Our consultant was responsible for reviewing acceptance test plans and procedures, witness acceptance tests and verify proper operation and connectivity of the network throughout the terminal complex.
The network infrastructure consisted of a fully redundant, fault tolerant, Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet network backbone, which provided connectivity and access to all network services throughout the facility. All systems, including check-in and gate counters, message displays and flight status monitors were integrated and connected to the network backbone.
In addition, Access Network Solutions reviewed the design and configuration of the implemented Network Management System (NMS), which was undersized and not capable of handling the monitoring requirements. Our consultant developed a plan and recommendation for additional hardware resources and server platform to allow the system to function properly and collect and monitor the necessary resources.
